Make thearchitecture general public, or at least accessible in idea, the objective set by the Council of Architecture, Town Planning and the Environment (CAUE) of Jura seems like no easy feat, and yet.

However, for this center whose mission is to develop informationthe sensitivity and the spirit of public participation in the fields of architecture,urban planning and theenvironmentwanted to achieve this thanks to a new edition of “Looks at architecture and planning” its competition dedicated to highlighting the finest achievements of recent years.

” On 35 projects who were presented to us to apply for, we retained 18 which will be submitted to a public vote between January 6 and February 21, 2025 “, explain Florence Clementconsultant architect within the CAUE.

Quality architecture in the Jura

And to continue: “Our objective is to show that there iscontemporary architecture and quality in the Jura, but also raise awareness among the general public and those elected to added value of an architect for a project. Because unfortunately today it is an area which is often mistreated. Above all, when there are construction problems, we turn to architects even though they have nothing to do with it. Not to mention the fact that unfortunately, nowadays, in terms of architecture people are satisfied with the average, the banal. »

The opportunity with this competition to give visibility to architecture through particularly successful local projects. “Projects that break the urban legend that architects are artists who only do what they want and who are extremely expensive. »

Public facilities, urban development, professional activities or housingthe selected projects also prove, for some of them, that the renovation could be a solution to Zero net artificialization which will develop in the coming years.

Once the votes are completed, the public prize will be awarded in mars 2025before the results for each category and the winners are announced during the National Architecture Days in October 2025.
