Jacques Richter and his wife were looking for a place to accommodate family and friends. The object that will catch the couple’s attention is in poor condition and everything needs to be redone. The perfect opportunity to create a place that really suits them, while respecting the style of the region. Jacques Richter is one of the two founding members of the RDR architects office, created with his partner Ignacio Dahl Rocha in 1993. Today, with offices in Lausanne, Madrid and Buenos Aires, the architecture office carries out international projects of large scale. The chalet, built in 1920 to accommodate summer tourists, had stood the test of time, undergoing several transformations and changing owners three times. Its general condition quickly convinced the architect to carry out a major renovation. “From the start, our goal was to create a warm and friendly place, but above all practical and functional. The chalet had to be able to accommodate our children, our grandchildren, and our friends, while being perfectly suited to use as a couple or alone,” explains Jacques.
